Entry Rules for Honor Awards

Online applications open May 3, 2019 and
close November 4, 2019 at 3:00PM (Eastern Time).

Only online entries will be accepted.

• The Entry Title / Program Name of your application cannot be the name of your Organization or Unit. If so, the entry will be disqualified.

• Entries that include implementation of nationally developed programs will not be accepted. This includes BGCA national programs.

• Only entries for locally developed programs by the Club Organization and/or in partnership with the local Club for the current calendar year will be accepted.

• Units may not submit the same application in more than one category.

• Units that have won an Honor or Merit Award in a particular category are not eligible to win in the same category for two consecutive years.

• Organizations on provisional status or a funding hold are not eligible to enter the Honor Awards competition.

• Units must participate in the National Youth Outcomes Initiative, unless it is a BGCA-Affiliated Youth Center.

• Incomplete or duplicate entries will be disqualified.

• Finalists must be prepared to submit documentation of all program components.

• All Honor Awards entries from an Organization should be submitted on behalf of a local Unit/Site/Branch, except for                                    the Youth Development Professional Learning & Development category, which should be submitted by the Organization. 

• Each Club/Unit may submit a total of nine entries; one entry in each of the following categories: 
  • Leadership & Service
  • Education
  • The Arts
  • Sports & Recreation
  • Health & Wellness
  • Youth Trends: Workforce Readiness
  • Teens
  • Youth Development Professional Learning & Development
  • Building a Culture of Safety
